LOGICAL DESIGN

Logical design is not tied to any specific hardware and system software. Logical design concentrates on the business aspects of the system, that is, how the system will impact the functional units within the organization.

The term logical design reflects the system that is independent of any poSsible technical solution.

Under logical design process, logical data models that depicts data and information requirements, logical process models that depicts business processes requirements and logical interface models that depict business and system interface requirements can be drawn.

The deliverables of logical design are the logical system models and specifications themselves.

or in other words,

Logical design is the translation of business user requirements into a system model that depicts only the business requirements and not any possible technical design or implementation of those requirements.
